Why Renewable Energy Now?
The pure economics for renewable energy continue to grow daily. The fossil fuels we use to create electricity in this country get more expensive every day. While the cost of electricity for everyday use continues to skyrocket, the environmental costs of burning fossil fuels for electricity endanger our planet. The garbage or "municipal solid waste" Sun Energy will use to create electricity is plentiful, and the beneficial reuse of generating electricity makes both economic and environmental sense. Metro areas produce thousands of tons of waste daily; all being buried in landfills. The Sun facility planned for New Orleans, will use a large portion of this refuse to generate enough electricity for almost 60,000 households. This renewable energy mitigates the growing need for clean, renewable energy.
